Why yes, yes I am thank you :)

A little background on myself for your reading pleasure...
My name is Tammy and I live in the beautiful city of Calgary, Alberta with my dog Ramsay, a Jack Russell Terrier, an 18 year old cat named PussPuss and my boyfriend Mike whom I affectionately call SuperTech.  Our house is in a community at the very southern edge of the city where, unfortunately the dining out selection is lacking.  Mike and I cook at home quite frequently, especially BBQ in the summer, but let's be real. Calgary's summer is 2.7 months long.  That leaves a whole lot of months left for going out to eat because its too bloody cold to be cooking outdoors.  I am a server and a manager at a restaurant in the city and often work late-ish , as Mike would say.  So frankly, by the time I get home at 10pm from serving dinner to others all night, I'd just like to go out and have someone serve me for a while.

It almost always starts out like this:
T: I Need a beer
M: Want me to make dinner? We've got beer here.
T: Nope, I made decent cash.  I want beer on tap, some questionable pub food and someone to wait on me.
M: OK.. where do you want to go?
T: I don't know .. you ?
M: It's up to you, you are the picky eater.

Like clockwork, we will end up at a pub or restaurant because I am lazy and we both love going out to eat.
As we sit in the establishment of the day we look around, commenting on the food, the decor, how cold (or warm) the beer is and occasionally making fun of another guest.  (Usually only when it involves mullets or People Of WalMart knock-offs)

So combining my knowledge of "the industry", my raging addiction to Food Network, Mike's vast love for any type of food, and my picky eater tendencies I venture out into this blog...  stay tuned to find out which pubs are great, which are just ok, and which are so terrible you feel compelled to go just to see what I am talking about!
